Blog on ploughing championships 2016:
The transition year students of Mercy Navan were brought on a trip to Tullamore Offaly to go and see the ploughing championships of 2016. This trip took place on the 21/09/2016. Our bus left that morning at 7 o'clock and we arrived in Offaly at 9:30. We were home that evening at 5 o'clock. At the ploughing championships there was schools, farmers and visitors from all over the country there that day. There was around 1500 stalls as well as a massive carnival for all to have fun. We were brought on this trip to help us all bond as a group and to have fun! We were in groups going around and were able to look around at all the stalls and the machinery there. We were also allowed to go into the carnival. During my trip I felt like I have gained more friends and have become closer to my class group which is what I wanted to happen during Ty for me. I really enjoyed the ploughing championships of 2016 as it was a lot of fun and a great day out for me. At the end of the trip I was very happy with the outing and was delighted to spend the time with my friends.
