On the 21st of September our TY classes travelled to Tullamore in Offaly for the ploughing championships. We had to leave school at 7 o’clock in the morning and got the bus at the Leighsbrook entrance. We were all very tired but very excited to arrive. We all tried to sleep on the bus on the way up but awoke after a while! We arrived in Tullamore around 9 am. We had to stay in groups with our friends as there were a lot of people there and the place was very big! We were very hungry so my friends and I headed for the food stalls. On the way over we enjoyed looking at different stalls and seeing all the agricultural machinery. We spotted a small carnival so we decided to go in before we ate, most of us went on one of the rides together, it was very fun but very expensive so we decided to leave. We enjoyed two slices of pizza shortly after, as we were very hungry! We all talked while we ate our pizza and headed out to the stalls when we finished. We then enjoyed walking around looking at the little booths and mini shops. There were big companies and small ones too. This was also very helpful to get ideas for mini company. We received free samples and booklets for different businesses. We had to be at the bus for 1:50 but got delayed so we left later than planned. I enjoyed this experience very much as we got to try new things and it was a very good experience but I would have loved to see all the stalls as we didn’t have enough time to do all them because there was so many! Overall it was a great experience and would love to do it again!
