Myself and my two classmates entered the BT Young Scientist's Exhibition back in September of this year. We were completely unaware that the judges of this competitor would be even remotely interested in our idea.
We set out to find out the benefits of Equine Therapy for autistic children. The day our Science teacher told us that we had been accepted to go to the RDS in January, we went to Brookfield Stables to interview an Equine Therapist.
We went to Brookfield Stables every Saturday for four weeks to do our own observations. We observed the same children over the four weeks. The children we observed were all young. Most of them communicated non-verbally. Throughout the four weeks we observed the children's reactions and the bond they created with the horses.
