On Thursday the 1st of September, all transition year students went to Newgrange Lodge in Donore, Co.Louth for our Induction/Bonding trip.
On arrival we were split into 3 groups and taken to participate in different activities. My group, Team Black were taken to do some bonding games. After that we went and did the obstacle course. Everyone did one round and then the instructor timed some girls that wanted to see how fast they could do it. We went in for lunch following that and had goujons and chips. All food we received throughout the trip was delicious. Then we did the rock climbing wall and some even tried it blind folded! Then, our favourite activity – Kayaking. We all put wetsuits on and kayaked up the river and at the end we all jumped in. Even though it was cold we still enjoyed ourselves. Later that night we had lasagne for dinner and watched a movie.
The next day, we again split up into different groups. We built a fire which was very difficult but they gave us marshmallows to roast on the fire after we lit the fire. We then did a smaller rock climbing wall that went horizontally instead of vertically. Then we were supposed to do grass sledging but the instructor just told us about he met Beyonce. A few of us attempted it but it was a lot of effort. At the end, one of the workers, Colin took out his drone and took a picture of all of us from above. I really enjoyed myself and had a great time with all the other TYs.
