Road Safety Event in the Solstice Arts Centre
Tuesday the 19th January 2016
We were invited to attend an event organised for Transition Year students in the North-East of Meath in the Solstice from Brain Injury Ireland (BRI), the event was organised to raise awareness about dangerous driving and the results of dangerous driving such as death and brain injury.
Some of the people who spoke at the event included a local member of An Garda Siochana, a local fireman, an A&E nurse in Drogheda, some victims of brain injuries as a result of a road accident and the families of the victims. Each spoke about the effects of a road traffic accident and how they deal with it. The event showed videos and re-enactments of accidents and the repercussions of it.
