The night before our journey to Newgrange Lodge (31/8/2016) was the day in which we got all the information about the trip; what time we’re departing at, what clothes to take with us etc. We didn’t know the plan about the trip until we got there. We were travelling for about half an hour in our school bus. The place looked lovely. We stayed in a motel which was surrounded by nature. In the distance the actual Newgrange could be seen from one of the windows of the motel. Everyone got separated into groups of 2 the first day and into groups of 4-5 the second day. The first thing my group did was kayaking. It took a while before everyone got the hang of it. I definitely have great memories got to do with kayaking where we played fun games; we all had to swap kayaks without falling, races while sitting and standing up. A great memory was also when our leader told us all to link arms and pushed
us into the water.
We played paintball where we had to shoot bottles and got points. My group did very well in that. There was also a climbing wall. It was a great success when someone climbed to the very top in one of the harder levels. We had a race with our partner in the obstacle course. I also remember riding down a cliff on grass sledges. They didn’t go really fast but it was still fun.
All of the leaders were really nice to us. The food was really good there and the things we did even better but the weather wasn’t going well for us. This doesn’t mean we still didn’t have a lot of fun! There will be many good memories stuck in my mind about this trip to Newgrange because we all had such a good time there and I would be interested in going there someday again.
